About Academy for Urban School Leadership
AUSL has been changing the reality of underperforming and undeserved schools in high-poverty neighborhoods of Chicago since 2001. They recognize that the children in our low-income, urban public schools require specific and rigorous preparation to reach them, and then teach them to achieve. To meet these children's needs, AUSL believes elevating teacher quality must begin at the new-teacher preparation level.
Mission
AUSL will improve student achievement in Chicago's high-poverty, chronically failing schools through its disciplined transformation process, built on a foundation of specially trained AUSL teachers.
