There are so many lessons from the turmoil of the past 18 months, but I keep coming back to one: leadership is so often the catalyst that can turn crisis into opportunity. In our schools and communities, we can’t wait to react; we need to have the right leaders in the right place at the right time.
The Education Pioneers network is full of the leaders K-12 needs: 4,500 Alumni — 3,000+ of whom still work in education — who press onwards through trauma and fatigue to serve students and families during COVID-19, as well as nearly 50 new Fellows who raised their hands to contribute at the height of the pandemic.
Today, I’m proud to share EP’s 2021 Annual Report — a celebration of the impact of these incredible Pioneers and an encapsulation of EP’s work to recruit, develop, and mobilize adaptive, inclusive leaders throughout 2021. I hope you find yourself inspired by the stories you’ll read.
Our success wouldn’t be possible without the support of our community of champions. Your belief in our work has enabled us to navigate this tumultuous era with courage and resilience.
Time, success, and struggle have made EP’s unique purpose even more clear: to provide equity-oriented leadership and general management capacity, ensure diverse and representative leadership in K-12, and enable long term systems change. We are ready to create a stronger, more sustainable, and more impactful organization in the coming years. We’re inspired to transform — and we’re already on our way. Thank you for joining us on our journey.
