EP Announces Opening of Application for Fellowship’s Summer Track

This fall is an exciting time at Education Pioneers as we kick off recruitment for the 2017 Education Pioneers Fellowship and work to improve equity and opportunity for U.S. students.

In launching recruitment for the Education Pioneers Fellowship, we are excited to announce that applications are now open for our 2017 Fellowship’s summer track. We look forward to bringing hundreds of leaders into the sector who have the skillsets and mindsets to make change, and who are as driven to end inequity in education as we are.

We’re continuing to make important changes at EP as we identify, train, connect, and inspire diverse leaders who have the mindsets and skillsets most needed in education.

In the year since we announced our expanded Fellowship, we’ve heard important feedback from our talent, Partners, and others in our EP network about the shifts we made.

We’re listening — and here’s how we’re evolving our 2017 Fellowships as a result.

We’re increasing our focus on priority areas where Fellows can best support our Partners. Our Partners tell us they are most in need of diverse talent with skills in data and analysis, operations, strategy, and program and project management. In these areas, we are recruiting junior to mid-level talent where we can meet Partner talent needs with reliability and excellence. We are also pausing career track applications through mid-November to update our systems to reflect this change.

In addition, to ensure that our Partners and Fellows have a high-quality experience, we’re creating a more responsive matching and placement process. We’re doing this by balancing the effective use of technology with the right level of relationship building as we connect talent with our Partner organizations.

Lastly, we’re adjusting where we work. As we assessed our resources for the next year, we determined that we do not have the capacity to deliver an excellent experience to our Partners and Fellows in all our existing locations in 2017. For the next year, we will temporarily pause placement of Fellows in Los Angeles and Texas. We’ll maintain strong engagement with our Los Angeles and Texas Alumni and work to bolster our organizational capacity in the hope of returning to place Fellows there in 2018.
