Gianna Bruno finds her purpose at the intersection of adult learning, community building, and equity work. She currently serves as the Managing Director, External Affairs at Education Pioneers (EP), where she is also an Alum (Bay Area 2009). Gianna previously spent seven years on staff at EP, where she served in a variety of roles overseeing the organization’s leadership development programs and network mobilization efforts.
In between stints at EP, Gianna served as Head of Student Success at Springboard, an education technology company whose mission is to bridge the world’s skills gap by offering transformative online education in tech-related fields. Prior to this, Gianna led executive searches at Heidrick & Struggles on behalf of clients in the arts, education, non-profit, and philanthropy sectors. She began her career in fundraising and development, working for ODC/Dance, a non-profit arts organization in San Francisco.
Gianna holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Yale University and a master’s in business administration from New York University’s Stern School of Business. While at Stern, she was instrumental in launching several curricular and co-curricular offerings related to the social sector, for which she received Stern’s Alex Aurbach Award for School Service and an NYU President’s Service Award. Gianna was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado, and currently lives in San Francisco with her husband and daughter.
