TNTP believes our nation’s public schools can offer all children an excellent education. A national nonprofit founded by teachers, they help school systems end educational inequality and achieve their goals for students. TNTP works at every level of the public education system to attract and train talented teachers and school leaders, ensure rigorous and engaging classrooms, and create environments that prioritize great teaching and accelerate student learning. Since 1997, they’ve partnered with more than 200 public school districts, charter school networks and state departments of education. Today, TNTP is active in more than 30 cities.
Since 2007, 30 Education Pioneers have completed critical work on behalf of TNTP. They have:
- Created an online video library for TNTP’s clients to use during teacher evaluation trainings and professional development sessions so that teachers and administrators develop common expectations of excellent teaching practices.
- Conducted nationwide research studies to create policy recommendations designed to remove the major barriers to effective teacher staffing and to bring quality teachers to the most underserved urban communities.
- Designed a pilot alumni engagement strategy that included launching an alumni steering committee and social network platform, allowing TNTP to effectively leverage its existing network of fellows for recruitment and program development.
- And more.
